Hepatitis C is an infection caused by the hepatitis C virus that attacks the liver and leads to inflammation. It is a worldwide problem and is a major cause of both acute and chronic hepatitis. Newer treatments in hepatitis C have significantly improved the morbidity and mortality of this condition, which impacts underwriting. We will review the epidemiology, stages and complications, testing, treatments, and morbidity & mortality of this condition.
