Underwriting Alcohol-Related Risk with Confidence
Cliff Hale, MD, MBA, DBIM

We'll review recent and salient past studies quantifying alcohol-related mortality risk and examine the risk implications of mild, moderate, and heavy alcohol consumption as well as the case characteristics that modify these risks. Biological and psychosocial markers for alcohol-related risk including CDT will be examined, and we will show how to use these markers in risk selection. We will help underwriters understand their own biases in assessing the risk and help guide objectivity in explain the risks to clients and agents.
