Insurers' use of big data products for both underwriting and nonunderwriting
purposes poses challenges for their compliance with the
Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and certain state laws. This session will
provide guidance on knowing when and how to comply with the FCRA. It
will also explore whether insurers should regulate themselves when using
big data. Finally, it will raise awareness about the potential discriminatory
effects of using this data for certain eligibility decisions.
